Προβολές ταινιών και συζήτηση:

• Thank You for Smoking (2005) by Jason Reitman (screenplay), Christopher Buckley (novel):
  Satirical comedy follows the machinations of Big Tobacco's chief spokesman, Nick Naylor, who spins on behalf of cigarettes while trying to remain a role model for his twelve-year-old son.
• Cigarette Girl (2009) by John Michael McCarthy:
  In the near future laws against smoking have increased to the point where you must live in a certain part of town called the Smoking Section if want to smoke cigarettes. Once you have passed the line of demarcation you just know you've crossed the tracks because things get a little grimier, a little more industrial. The sky is a little blacker. The mood is heavier. Someone might get hurt. Cigarettes now cost $63.49 a pack, yet the money derived from this tax obviously isn't going toward this dystopian corner of the city. If you travel there to smoke or to buy (because it is also illegal to buy on the 'clean' side of town) there are several options, but the main place is the Vice Club. There you will find old fashion Cigarette Girls like our heroine with no name. The Vice Club was actually a cigarette factory built in 1935 and designed by the very best deco influenced architects. The original owners even installed a giant 50 foot long Iron cigarette on top of the building that tipped into an gigantic ashtray. One hundred years later that cigarette is cancer coated with rust but still tilts back and forth - if the wind is strong enough, making a horrible squeak on it's axis that is heard through out the city. Cigarette Girl becomes an angel of death when she stops smoking and starts killing on the third day to alleviate her acute psychological withdrawal manifested primarily by the ghost of a cowboy who is always on her back to keep smoking. Cigarette Girl would rather kill than smoke.
• The Insider (1999) by Marie Brenner, Eric Roth & Michael Mann:
  A research chemist comes under personal and professional attack when he decides to appear in a "60 Minutes" expose on Big Tobacco.
  
• The Last Cigarette (1999):
  In 1994, the Health and Environment Subcommittee of the US Congress, chaired by Henry Waxman (D-California), held a hearing on tobacco products and health. Excerpts from the hearing, where the CEOs of the four US tobacco companies testified, are interspersed with clips from movies, educational films, TV commercials, and other promotional materials. Among the topics addressed in the hearing: are cigarettes the single most dangerous consumer product, how many people die annually in the US from smoking, is nicotine addictive, should smoking be banned in public places, do tobacco ads target children? (This historic hearing is referenced in the 1999 film, "The Insider.")

Συναντήσεις της ομάδας κάθε Τρίτη 14:00-16:00

Βράβευση των μαθητριών/τών μας: Μάγδα Π., Εύα Μ., Έλενα Ν., Βασιλική Π. και Βίκτωρα Π. για την αφίσα κατά του καπνίσματος που δημιούργησαν το σχολικό έτος 2012-13 στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος "Κάπνισμα = Αργός, Ύπουλος Θάνατος" του 4ου ΕΠΑ.Λ. Αθήνας με υπεύθυνες εκπαιδευτικούς τη Δριμυλή Αικατερίνη και την Ντάσιου Παρασκευή. Ο Καλλιτεχνικός Διαγωνισμός οργανώθηκε από τονΤομέα Επιδημιολογίας και Βιοστατιστικής της Εθνικής Σχολής Δημόσιας Υγείας. Η βράβευση πραγματοποιήθηκε την Παρασκευή 11-4-2014, 12μμ, στο Αμφιθέατρο 9.84 στην Τεχνόπολη - Γκάζι, στη σχετική εκδήλωση που εντάσεται στο πρόγραμμα "ΔΗΜΟΣΙΑ ΥΓΕΙΑ ΣΤΗΝ ΠΡΑΞΗ" σε συνεργασία με το Δήμο Αθηναίων.
